Pulse + Zapier

Pulse integrates natively with dozens of tools, but no product can connect to everything. That is where Zapier comes in. The Pulse + Zapier integration gives you the flexibility to wire Pulse into virtually any app in your stack, from CRMs and email platforms to form builders and payment processors, without writing a single line of code.

What the Integration Does

Through Zapier, Pulse acts as both a trigger and an action in your automated workflows called Zaps. As a trigger, Pulse can kick off a Zap whenever a task is created, completed, overdue, or a status changes. As an action, Pulse can receive instructions from other apps to create tasks, update statuses, or log comments, turning any external event into project activity inside Pulse.

Key Use Cases

  • New sales deal to onboarding project: When a deal is marked Closed Won in your CRM such as HubSpot or Salesforce, Zapier automatically creates a new Pulse project from a client onboarding template, assigns the account manager, and sets the kickoff deadline, all before the sales rep has finished updating their notes.
  • Form submission to task: When a client submits a support or change-request form via Typeform or Google Forms, Zapier creates a Pulse task with the form responses pre-filled in the task description, tagged by client and request type, and assigned to the appropriate team queue.
  • Invoice trigger from task completion: When a billable Pulse milestone is marked complete, Zapier sends the milestone details to your invoicing tool such as FreshBooks or QuickBooks and creates a draft invoice, closing the loop between delivery and billing automatically.
  • Completed tasks to reporting spreadsheet: Each time a task is marked Done in Pulse, Zapier appends a row to a Google Sheet with the task name, assignee, project, and completion date, building an always-current delivery log for reporting without any manual exports.

How to Set It Up

In Zapier, search for Pulse in the app directory and select your Pulse account. Authenticate using your Pulse API key, which you can find under Settings > API > Generate Key in your Pulse dashboard. In Zapier’s Zap builder, choose Pulse as your trigger or action app, select the event you want to use, and map the data fields. No Pulse configuration is required beyond generating the API key since all workflow logic lives in Zapier.
